Important Information for Students and Families COVID-19 Closure Information

3rd 9 Weeks Report Cards
The 3rd 9 weeks is closed.  Grades and Report Cards will be available to view in Parent Access on Monday, March 23rd.  

Educational Information
Teachers have prepared three Calamity Day (Blizzard Bag) lessons for students to complete on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (March 18-20) this week.  Students can access these lessons from the TCTC website (www.tctchome.com) starting on Wednesday, 3/18. If a teacher has something for students to do other than the Calamity Day assignments that were planned, individual teachers will communicate this with students via email.  We encourage students to check email frequently.  

Starting next Monday, (3/22), through the remainder of our time off, unless otherwise instructed, students will complete online learning lessons for their program and academic classes.  

Because TCTC is a 1:1 school with iPads, this will be a familiar practice for our students.  Students should look to access their assignments from each teacher where they normally do; Google Classroom, SchoolWork, iTunesU, teacher website, etc.  If you do not have a ‘normal’ place to access work from a certain teacher, please be sure to check your email for specific directions of where you will start to access your learning opportunities.

If a student is absolutely unable to access work electronically, please call Mrs. Flint, TCTC Director, at 330.847.0503 ext. 1036 to communicate your educational needs so that we can work together to get work to you.

Special Education Curriculum
TCTC will comply with accommodations that are expected through students’ IEP or 504 plans.  Classroom assignments will be modified for students as appropriate, and VOSE’s will be available via email to support students during school hours.  If a parent/guardian has questions about services available, please contact Melissa Starkey, Special Needs Supervisor, at 330.847.0503 ext. 1020.

Assistance with Assignments
Over the course of the closure, teachers will be regularly checking their email to respond to students/parents who may have questions about assignments or work.  In addition, individual teachers may schedule opportunities for students to reach out for help or discussion via other methods.  Just as teachers will be flexible with assignments due to the nature of these circumstances, we ask that students/parents be flexible and understanding of some of the communication challenges that we may face.  We promise to do our best.

Technology Information
Most TCTC students have iPads and will access their work the same way they did prior to the closure.  Those students who do not have an iPad are encouraged to use other means of technology (computer, cell phone, etc.) to access work.  

Students without internet access are encouraged to call this number to inquire about free internet for students during school closures:  1-844-488-8395

In addition, AT&T, Comcast, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have announced that they are removing internet data caps for most home internet and smartphone customers for at least the next 60 days to help with work at home policies during the COVID-19 outbreak (excluding roaming).  

If ultimately you are unable to access work electronically, again, please contact Mrs. Flint, TCTC Director, at 330. 847.0503 ext. 1036 to communicate your educational needs so that we can work together to get work to you.

TCTC’s ‘one call’ system will be used to notify students and families of new and important information over the next several weeks.  Email will also be a crucial means of communication during the time away.  We will also reinforce important information on our school website and social media platforms.
