About Career Corner

Career Corner is an educational learning avenue for students in middle school and early high school. The show will air once per month with a focus on the different career pathways.  The show intends to be a useful tool for teachers that satisfies Ohio content standards concerning careers.

This show was created after the Interactive Multimedia Instructor, Kris Doran was selected as a Communication Fellow by Ohio University. This included a three-day visit to Ohio University. Mr. Doran and other 2019 Communication Fellow profiles can be read about here.

There is also a cross-program partnership for creating the show's content. The show will be produced by Interactive Multimedia seniors; the lesson plan will be created by Career Paths for the Teaching Profession seniors; and the content will be provided by students in the highlighted programs and experts from the field.

Show Components

TCTC students will produce and man the show as well as serve as subject matter experts from their respective career fields.

Career Corner will also utilize industry professionals as guests on the show who will participate in a live question and answer segment.

Prior to each episode, Interactive Multimedia students will travel to work sites and businesses to gather footage and interviews related to the industry.

Students will also utilize Pre-ality in each episode by using VR/ 360 videos. This will allow any student with phone or tablet to be immersed into the scene. These virtual "field trips" will create resources for young students to become immersed in work and career situations. All of the 360 videos will be stored at the link below.
