Pizza Hut on Mahoning Ave Recognizes Students for Achivement in Reading

Pizza Hut awards personal pan pizzas with a topping to students who submit written logs based on their outside reading at the Trumbull Career & Technical Center. Each month 12 students are selected randomly in a drawing.

Charmayne Polen, the Literacy  co-chairperson stated, “Providing students with motivation such as a weekly pizza drawing is helpful to insure that more kids make the time to read. It also assists our building to reach our goal of having all students read 12 books in one school year.

The students hail from different schools and different programs, but on Friday, October 27, it was not difficult to know who they were. At lunch time, they had a smile on their face and a personal pan pizza in their hand.

The winning students were:Krissy Duecaster, Crystal Miller, Terri Whippo, Mike Warner, Jeremiah Hill, Kerry Cunningham, Jasper Efaw, Amanda Staub, Eric Richmond, Courtney Barnet, Korntee Price and Whitney Johnson.
