TCTC Supervisor Receives Franklin B Walter Educational Award

On Wednesday, June 17, Jodi Riedel, Supervisor of Special Needs at the Trumbull Career & Technical Center received the Franklin B Walter Award for Outstanding Achievement in Columbus, Ohio. The award is presented annually to educators who have made extraordinary contributions to the education of students with disabilities. The award is named in honor of Franklin Walter who was the State Superintendent of Education from 1977 to 1991.

Riedel was nominated by her colleagues who cited her energy and her priority of keeping the needs of students first in her decision making process. She is a leader among her peers and is highly regarded throughout the state for her work with special populations.

Jason Gray, Superintendent of the TCTC commented on Riedel’s impact in the building. “We are fortunate to have Jodi as a member of our Administrative team. She is an innovator and regarded among the best in her field.”
