The students are required to complete 1500 hours of instruction as governed by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology.

Upon completion of the program and successfully passing the State Board of Cosmetology Exam, students will be licensed to work in any salon in Ohio.

  • Kent State University, up to 30 credits toward Associate of Technical Study-Individualized Program, Category A

 Hair stylist, Receptionist, Natural Hair Stylist, Salon Assistant, Epilation Technician, Manicurist/ Pedicurist, Senior Hair Designer, Nail Technician, Hair Color Artist, Make-Up Artist, Esthetician, Sales Consultant, Salon/ Spa Manager, Salon Owner, National Performing Artist, Instructor
Career Tech Student Organization Association 
  • Manipulative skills, communication and interactive skills are suggested
  • Excellent attendance is required and all program hours missed will be made up before registering for the State Board Exam
  • A mature work ethic, dependability, listening skills and a sincere interest in people are the foundation for a successful career
  • Students enrolling in the TCTC cannot have more than two credit deficiencies toward graduation
  • Students must have earned a proficient score or higher on the end of course science test
