Our district has been recognized by the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) at annual HSTW national conferences for student achievement and high expectations. Awards include:
  • 2013-Ohio’s Outstanding Career Center
  • 2014-Platinum High Achievement Award

TCTC offers 29 programs, including 9 College Credit Plus courses, 27 workforce development programs, a Job Training Coordination program, and a “Senior-Only” program in the area of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMTB). Upon successful completion of these one-year programs and passage of the licensure exam, students will earn a 12 point credential in their program of study. To graduate, a student must earn a varying number of credits as required by their school district. Credits range from 21-26 units.

Additionally, must meet other Ohio Graduation Standards. All students must also complete a Senior Capstone Project. This project may be shared with potential employers and/or post secondary admissions officers. TCTC students are also encouraged to participate in school endorsed Job Shadowing and Early Experience work.
3 E's Campaign
During the 2016-2017 school year, the TCTC implemented a comprehensive school-wide initiative that is closely aligned with Ohio’s Career Advising program. This initiative is known as our 3 E’s Campaign. Students are asked to choose whether or not they wish to Enroll in post-secondary education, Enlist in a branch of the armed services, or become Employed after high school. Staff are actively engaged in the process of helping students discover their “E” and plan for a successful transition after high school.

Workforce Development
TCTC students enrolled in a workforce development program have the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school. During the 2019-2020 school year 96.6% percent of our students were enrolled in Tech Prep programs and 6% percent participated in College Credit Plus opportunities at TCTC in partnership with Youngstown State University, Kent State University and Eastern Gateway Community College.
